New and Old Ideas in Macroeconomics
This reading group discusses past and recent work addressing the key issues, concepts, and ideas at the heart of macroeconomic theory. It aims to create space for critical discussion of the principles that shape modern macroeconomics, including the ideas, philosophy, and historical events that inspire theoretical formulations.
The group welcomes work from any period, as well as empirical research that sheds light on consequential questions. Participants are encouraged to bring forward interrogations, puzzles, and work they do not yet fully understand so that these can benefit from collective thinking.
Format: Monthly meetings of 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Venue: Meetings are held at the Paris School of Economics and other participating Paris-based universities. Remote participation via Zoom is available upon request.
Organized by: Félix Ranson and Leonardo Endrizzi.
